These girls, regardless of their age or dignity come to other cities from Mexico in all shapes and sizes to work as maids. Their hopes are to earn enough money to help support their families in Mexico and, if lucky, to find an employer to help them acquire legal working documents.

Mexico is a source, transit, and destination country for persons trafficked for sexual exploitation and labor. Many illegal immigrants fall prey and are exploited along the borders. Mexico also faces a considerable internal trafficking problem in which thousands of girls are victims of commercial sexual exploitation.

Most of these girls come illegally, but are eagerly welcomed because they work cheaper than locals and they are easier to control. The general complaint against them is that they are lazy, dirty or are thieves. Their belongings are searched thoroughly and on the rare occasions they are allowed to visit their Mexican relatives or the Mexican pharmacy for medical checkup to find out if they are not carrying any disease. Mexican Pharmacy is always there to help such cases.
