The new mexico state fair is the best!

Situated just west of Old town, the site where the state fair first took place, would be modest by today's standards. More than 120 years later the New Mexico State Fair has evolved into an established, professional and celebrated business located in the heart of Albuquerque. The years have brought about a multitude of changes for "The Biggest Show in New Mexico," including management changes, governmental changes, renovations, and name changes.

Since the Fair was established long before the southwestern territory entered into statehood, the event wasn't accepted as a state fair, not until 1911. Despite the changing face of the New Mexico State Fair over the years, the earliest objectives of the territorial fair have remained the same to bring together an innovative and accessible face of cultural diversity, eclectic artwork, local agriculture and fun and family entertainment to the all and sundry.
